Thigh Lift Process

Before going to the operation your surgeon will start Drawing lines on your thighs showing where the fat will be extracting from and you can discuss the exact goals of the surgery.

Like all the surgeries, the procedure begins with the Anesthesia , your surgeon will recommend the best choice for you wether is an intravenous sedation or general anesthesia depending on your case. Incisions patterns vary based on the area or areas to be treated, degree of correction and patient and surgeon preference.

Then we proceed to Closing the incisions . Deep sutures within underlying tissues help to form and support the newly shaped contours. Sutures, skin adhesive tapes or clips may be used to close the skin incisions

Instructions for better Thigh Lift Surgery

The following instructions are general information to be followed before and after a Thigh Lift procedure:

Pre-Operation: ·Avoid aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications), Vitamin E, herbal supplements or any medications containing these compounds for 2 weeks before surgery. Acetaminophen (Tylenol or generic equivalent) and a multivitamin are fine. ·Refrain from smoking 1 month before and after surgery. Nicotine and tobacco smoke delay healing and can result in scarring. This is the perfect time to give up the habit. ·Do not eat or drink anything, including water, after midnight the night before your surgery. ·Arrange for someone to take you home from the hospital. You will not be allowed to drive or leave alone. Arrange for someone to stay with you for the first 24 hours after surgery. Post-Operation: ·No smoking for a minimum of 2 months following surgery ·You will be able to return to non-strenuous work approximately 2 - 4 weeks after surgery. ·At approximately 6 weeks post op, strenuous activity will be allowed. ·Sometime around the 8th week after surgery you will be allowed to resume all activities ·No intercourse for a minimum of two weeks. ·Minimal activity of the first week after surgery. ·1-2 drains may be required. If asked, drainage amounts should be logged and taken to each postoperative visit for the surgeon to review. ·Leave the surgical compression garment on until instructed otherwise. This will decrease the risk of Seroma (collection of fluid) formation in the postoperative period. ·No HOT or WARM compresses. ·No COLD or ICE compresses to the area.
